She was also wearing steel gauntlets, straddling one of the most powerful parahumans in Brockton Bay in a painful wrestling mount, pounding at his draconic head in the middle of a burning city block. *SLAM* "U-uugh" *SLAM* "P-plesh, s-stahp" *WHAM* She was garbed in what appeared to be a conservative two-piece swimsuit, complete with sarong, sunhat, and low-heeled sandals, a decidedly odd choice of wear considering the season. ![]() She was a slip of a girl, eighteen at most, lanky in that distinct still-developing teenage manner, with wide eyes framed by glasses and dark, slightly wavy hair in a loose ponytail. Colin had been watching the exchange for the last 5 minutes, consulting his helmet, checking it for any malfunctions, consulting HQ, consulting Dragon, but him, and everyone he asked, just couldn't wrap their heads around it. In some timelines, humanity does leave its cradle, and Gilgamesh retroactively gains technology that can go FTL, and in others, there is Emiya "saving" the world by annihilating everything (and that's not even considering the "Mind of Steel" Bad End). We don't really see the two settings compared directly but the difference is quite large if you read between the lines (pun intended ). In Tsukihime, the Twenty-Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors effectively dominate the geopolitics of the Moonlit World, and some are actively working to complete the Aylesbury Ritual to revive Crimson Moon. Gilgamesh saw that humanity had fallen to consumerism and individuals were insignificant, such that there were essentially no modern heroes, but even so the world is a brighter place than the timeline where Gaia called upon Crimson Moon and Primate Murder to cut off what she perceived as an infestation. The great heroes and legends had a much bigger impact n Fate/Stay Night, making humanity more hopeful and Gaia less disgusted. Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night, the most well known lines, exist as sort of opposites on the spectrum.
